Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

10,990 LEGS!!!!

ANONYMOUS GOT THE CORRECT ANSWER AND WON THE CAT!!!!! I KNOW WHO ANONYMOUS IS AND CAN DELIVER SAID CAT WITHOUT A PROBLEM ~ AND HER DAUGHTER WILL LOVE ME OOOOHHHHH SO MUCH MORE THAN SHE ALREADY DOES.

I received this from my sister and finally got the correct answer. Read carefully! The first one (excluding my sister who already knows the answer) to answer correctly gets a cat!!!! ONLY KIDDING ~ but there might be a prize involved!

There are 7 girls on a bus.
Each girl has 7 backpacks
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.
For every big cat, there are 7 little cats.
Question: How many legs are there on the bus?

NOTE: There are no other people on the bus ~ just the girls. There is no bus driver, no other passengers.

Dahdah dahdah, dah dudu dah (sung to the Jeopardy tune) I will post the answer on Friday!!!!!

Krispy Kreme Donuts

I walked right through the gates of Heaven last night ~ OH WAIT, it was only our church kitchen!!!! I entered the kitchen to help with a church event and there in front of me were 600 Krispy Kreme donuts. OH MY WORD!!

The event speaker was the CEO of Krispy Kreme and as a surprise for him, we bagged 2 donuts for each attendee and put them on the tables. As an added bonus, we stacked the boxes on the stage! The only thing that beats a fresh Krispy Kreme is one so hot from the drive-thru window that it burns your mouth!!!! The red flashing "Hot Donuts Now" sign is a beautiful sight.

All kidding aside, Mr. Morgan's presentation was not about the glorious donut ~ but about how we can share our faith in Christ on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis. He shared his personal stories and ideas for showing Christ's love and carrying out the Great Commission in our everyday lives, whether in the workplace or our social activities. He was truly inspiring.

I only hope I gleaned a small amount of his knowledge and can begin to do a better job of showing God's love through my actions, and telling others about His wondorous gifts.

Blabbering again!

My 10 day trip to Ohio was great. I did very little and that was my plan! My sister and I stayed up late, slept late, and some days stayed in PJ's most of the day. I did bathe and eat ~ but only when absolutely necessary (bathing that is, eating was done constantly)!!!!!

Visited my nieces and their families and the kids CANNOT be that old because that would make me ~WHOA~ just way too old. My cousin and his wife had their first grandchild 10 months ago and he is precious. They just found out that No. 2 is on the way as well. So the trip was wonderful and restful.

As for the Skybus flight, that was great and best of all CHEAP! It was about 30 minutes late leaving ~ but I surely did not complain because the sweet people on another airline had been at the airport since 12pm for their 2pm flight that had not left at 7pm when I boarded. They had mechanical problems and were waiting for another plane. The airport brought in pizzas for them. Coming home was good too, only 1 hour delay and that was weather related because my plane was coming from Kansas City.

As for the post about getting "hit on", several people asked me who hit on me. I quickly told them that I did not look because I did not want to see that my ego building flirter was an 80 year old toothless guy or something!!!!

It's good to be home now ~ with my hubby and doggie that missed me. And best of all was when the grandsons loved on their Nana, admitted they really missed me and spent the night with us my first night home! Precious!

It must be older cars. . . .

I have a friend that drives an older Buick and we call her the "Buick Babe" because she seems to get lots of waves and honks and blown kisses, etc. as she tools around in it.

I am visiting family in Ohio and am driving a family member's old white Oldsmobile Cutlass. I LOVE having my own wheels because no one has to worry about carting me around and as sister went to the doctor with her hubby, I went shopping!!!!!

I GOT HIT ON THREE TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing. You have to understand, I am a GRANDMOTHER! A young one I must admit, but I GOT HIT ON THREE TIMES!!!! Did you get that ~ THREE TIMES!!!!!!!!!

So. . . it must be an older car thing. So, for only ego's sake, as soon as I get back home, the 2007 Honda is getting traded in at the local used car lot for a four door 90 something sedan!

DISCLAIMER: I am happily married and don't want to be hit on, and would never react or answer or wave back, etc. but it was fun I tell you ~ great for this Nana's ego.

Just Blabbering!

I've not posted for a week and I am sure the millions of readers out there have missed me. I work at a college and this week is the beginning of Spring semester, so it's been WILD and CRAZY let me tell ya! I've always laughed at the fact that they call the semester that begins in January, "SPRING" semester. I mean Fall semester begins in September. Oh well, must have been out the day they wanted my opinion.

My bible study begins Beth Moore's study on Psalms tomorrow night and I am excited to get back in the groove of bible study and fellowship with the girls. I've talked to several people that are already doing the study and they seem to like it so far. Would love to hear any comments that any of you may have.

I'm also headed out of town on Friday to visit my sister in Ohio. It's supposed to snow most of the time I am there (10 whole days!!!!), and that excites me. We don't get much snow in Georgia these days. We don't even get water!!!!!! I have lots of family there and it's been a long time since I've had the chance to just go and visit without being on time restraints or going for a special occasion.

I am flying on a new airline that is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP ~ I think we all have to pedal to make it fly!!!! I will share the experience after the trip.

I mentioned before that I don't make New Year's resolutions. Of course, like lots of people, I need to lose weight. In fact, my family in Ohio will be a little surprised at how much more of me they will see this time. But alas, I've found all kinds of excuses so far.

First, there are all kinds of candies and cookies at the office that everyone brought in from being home for the holidays. Then, of course, who goes on a diet when they are getting ready to go out of town for 10 days. In Feb. I have two meetings on weekends with banquets, so February is taken care of, too. I am sure that I will come up with something for March before then!!! I'm creative that way!

Blogging Lesson #1 for 2008

I learned a VERY valuable lesson today! I commented on a very popular site and I apparently checked the box that said, "Notify me of followup comments via e-mail." I don't usually do this, but this accident proved to be very interesting since I was comment number 400 something of 3203 comments. 3203 COMMENTS!!!! WOW Needless to say, I've been deleting ALL DAY!!!! I thought maybe Pioneer Woman's website had gone la-la or I'd won the ranch ~ but alas, just a keystroke error! Since I've only been blogging since Oct. 2007, Blogging Lesson's may become a regular post topic!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year

I hope all is well this New Year's Day! I realized this morning as I sat and drank my coffee and read blogs and watched the parade (I have a tough life!!!) that I had not accomplished all the "to-do's" that I had planned on my week off. Laundry is still piled up, closets are still a mess, my craft/junk/"just put it in there" guest bedroom (if someone can find the bed) is INSANE and I have to return to work tomorrow. I did undecorate the house yesterday though and everything is in the basement!!!!!

So in trying to accomplish some type of organization today, I rearranged my favorites list on the laptop, removed a few links on my blog and cleaned up old e-mails. Does that count as accomplishing something????

I will now attempt to get off the couch (which will upset the dog terribly) and begin our New Year's day feast. Soup!!! Hey, at least it's not from a can, but I do have to peel potatoes. UGGHHHH, the things I do for love!!!!!!!
