It's the Clampett House!

We are beginning to look like the Beverly Hillbillies around here. First the dead fern hanging on the porch with the bird's nest, to the pumpkin patch.

But it's a sweet, sweet story. My mother-in-law lives next door to us and my grandsons call her G.G. (great-grandmother). Needless to say, the grandsons are the light of her life. Our youngest grandson, who is 6 years old has a special relationship with her. He brought her a pumpkin last October from the pumpkin farm. G.G. put it on her little porch in the front and was so proud.

As the pumpkin rotted, the seeds fell to the ground. We realized sometime last week that a pumpkin vine has sprouted. Now, I am no gardener, but I do know that pumpkin vines SPREAD like wildflowers. G.G. is so excited and has threatened my hubby's life if he cuts it back or mows over it. She cannot wait until fall when she gets to share pumpkins with the boys. She even wants my daughter-in-law to write a story with our grandson about it!

So you see, we will look like the Clampett's for the grand kids!!!!! I will keep you posted on the growth of the pumpkin vine and the birth of the baby birds!
